1. Product Overview

AI810 (3BSE008516R1) is standard 8-channel analog input module for ABB S800 distributed I/O system under 800xA DCS platform. It accepts unipolar single-ended current and voltage signals from field transmitters (pressure, temperature, level, generator PT/CT transducers). 12-bit high-precision ADC converts analog signals to digital values and transmits to AC800M controller via ModuleBus. The whole 8-channel group is galvanically isolated from ground to eliminate ground loop interference caused by medium voltage inverters and excitation converters. Built-in PTC self-recovery fuse provides 30V short-circuit overvoltage protection without module burnout. It supports transparent HART communication for smart field instruments, and automatically detects 4-20mA loop open circuit with local LED warning indication. Hot-swap design enables online replacement without system shutdown, widely used in continuous production power plants and metallurgical lines.
